What Is The Gathering Community Choir?

The Gathering Community was birthed out of the need for an outlet, a community, and, in a sense, a home. As we all know, church choirs are not as common today. Many churches have downsized to worship teams, and many congregations have only a handful of vocalists on those teams. More importantly, the choir culture within historically Gospel music-driven churches has become increasingly rare.

As I began reflecting on the people around me—their desire to sing in this kind of community again, their hunger to be challenged in these ways—I began to feel a burden. A burden that I believe God was calling me to help fill. To create this outlet here in Tacoma, WA.

Like many people, I pushed the idea aside for a while. But God used my wife to remind me of who I am, what I have to offer our community musically and spiritually, and, more importantly, the family I have standing behind me. So, we're bringing back our roots and creating an opportunity for our children to learn the way we learned.

Who is the Gathering Community Choir for?

Adults & teens desiring to lift up Jesus in song through Gospel music.

What does a Gathering look like?

Our Gatherings will take place just a few times throughout the year as we set aside a Saturday to come together. During these sessions, we'll learn songs, fellowship, and lift up the name of Jesus in song together. If you'd like to be part of our inaugural Gathering, register below!

Gatherings are from 10am to 3pm (lunch provided)
